A wonderful cool climate Australian Riesling. Classic lime citrus and white florals with racy acid.

An outstanding cool-climate Riesling from one of Australia's most renowned winemakers. Beautiful harmony of flavour and acid, with mythical minerality. A pale straw green Riesling, with ripe lime, citrus and floral notes paving the way for a crisp, fresh palate. Beautiful natural, mineral acidity gives the wine great texture and length.

Producer: Clonakilla

Region/Country: Canberra, Australia

Grape/s: Riesling

Production Method: The grapes were whole bunch pressed, with the clear juice fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures.

Style: Ripe lime, citrus and floral notes paving the way for a crisp, fresh palate.

Pairing Suggestion: Seafood, Asian dishes

Variety: Riesling

Profile: Generally lighter in alcohol with refreshingly crisp natural acidity and typically highly aromatic. Riesling has the ability to translate terroir through distinct aroma and flavour profiles. Typical fruit profile ranges from citrus (lemon and lime) through orchard (green and red apple) to stone and tropical (pineapple, peach, nectarine) depending on where it is grown and the intended style of Riesling.

Classic Regions: Eden and Clare Valleys (Australia), Mosel, Rheingau, Rheinhessen, Nahe (Germany), Alsace (France), Kamptal, Kremstal (Austria)

Clonakilla

Clonakilla is one of the leading estates in Australia, with an enviable reputation for Shiraz/Viognier. Clonakilla means ‘meadow of the church’ in Gaelic and is the name of the founder’s grandfather’s farm in County Clare, Ireland. Clonakilla is widely considered the standard bearer for the cool-climate brigade in Australia.
