Producer: Weingut Fred Loimer

Region/Country: Kamptal, Austria

Grape/s: Grüner Veltliner

Production Method: Organic viticulture. Short maceration followed by long fermentation in stainless steel and some oak and fine lees maturation

Style: Dry and crisp yet with good texture. Very aromatic and fruit forward with nice spice

Pairing Suggestion: Seafood, white meats and poultry dishes

Variety: Grüner Veltliner

Profile: The most widely planted variety in Austria, representing 1 in every 3 vines. Grüner Veltliner is capable of producing rich and powerful whites of extreme complexity and longevity, and should be considered one of the great white varieties. Typically it produces refreshing, tangy wines with white pepper, dill and exotic spice. They rarely see new oak, generally fermented in stainless steel and matured in large old casks.

Classic Regions: Kamptal, Kremstal, Weinviertel, Wachau (Austria)

Weingut Fred Loimer

The Loimer estate vineyards lie around Langenlois in the cool yet sunny Kamptal area to the north-west of Vienna. The conversion to biodynamic viticulture began in 2006, resulting in official Respekt certification for all estate wines. The grapes for their two regional wines are handpicked from vines aged up to 50 years. Aromatic and crisp, the Kamptal Grüner Veltliner and Kamptal Riesling offer excellent value.
