Perfumed and extremely elegant. Positively fresh on the palate yet with ample power and drive. Wonderful.
Wine: Mullineux Granite Syrah 2017
Region/Country: Swartland, South Africa
Production Method: After about 4 days, fermentation began with indigenous yeasts and lasted about 10 days. A further four weeks of skin contact was given after which the wine was drained and pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and maturation.
Style: The GRANITE Syrah is always the most perfumed and elegant of our single-terroir Syrahs. This wine has a floral, spicy, cranberry nose and a tight, fresh structure with a silky texture.
Pairing Suggestion: Grilled meats, vegetarian dishes, cheese courses
Mullineux was established in 2007, when Chris and Andrea Mullineux settled in the Swartland wine region, 60 kilometers north of Cape Town. Within a very short time period the winery established itself as one of South Africa’s most celebrated wine brands, both locally and on the international front. The Swartland is perfectly suited to natural methods of farming. The approach at Mullineux is to work as naturally as possible, both in terms of their viticulture and in the winery, with sustainable farming in place and no additions made to any of the wines.
